Our vision for this project was to enhance both the front and backyard, ensuring a seamless transition between relaxation, entertainment, and poolside luxury. A key highlight of the design is the sunken lounge, featuring custom in-situ concrete seating that harmonizes with the rich Spotted Gum timber facade of the home. In the backyard, additional in-situ concrete seating beneath a stunning feature tree provides a tranquil setting for intimate gatherings and quiet reflection.
Soft landscaping played a crucial role in maintaining privacy while enhancing the lush, green aesthetic. Forever Green carefully preserved the mature Pittosporum hedge, ensuring instant screening and a natural backdrop for the new design. Existing feature trees in both the front and backyard were retained to uphold the property’s established character, while shade-tolerant understory plantings were introduced to create a cohesive, layered planting scheme. Along the front boundary, Ficus hillii ‘Flash’ standards were strategically placed with the intention of being pleached over time, adding structure, height, and enhanced privacy to the space.
To achieve a perfect balance between structure and softness, expansive lawn areas were incorporated in both the front and backyards. These open, green spaces not only soften the overall design but also provide practical areas for family enjoyment and outdoor activities. Precision paving, high-quality decking, and expertly installed site drainage ensure a durable, low-maintenance landscape that will thrive in Melbourne’s climate. An advanced, fully automated irrigation system was also integrated, delivering efficient water management and promoting the long-term health of the garden.
