Formal front and rear garden design.
This lush semi-formal front and rear garden design complement the luxurious Hamptons chic property. A spectacular feature of the design was the undercover outdoor deck area which provided a seamless connection from the indoor to outdoor zones. The stainless steel outdoor alfresco kitchen also provides another layer of sophistication and functionality to the overall design of this landscape. After dark the garden boasts stunning ambient of garden lighting throughout the property, with several light focused on highlight the groups of Buxus sempervirens English Box Spheres, Magnolia grandiflora Little Gems, Dendrocalamus minor amoneous Ghost Bamboo, Pyrus callerayana ‘Capital’ Ornamental Pears and Ficus microcarpa ‘hillii’ Flash.
There were many challenges with this project, however, one of the biggest problems was the sandy soil and the inability to retain nutrients and water. Regular compost, manure and mulch improved the soil enabling the vegetation to flourish. Plant diversity was also a major aspect of this garden. Different colours, textures, creating different shapes and layers for this beautiful space. Staggering the plants in the garden bed is another good way to create this semi-formal garden as it introduces perspective to the foreground, middle ground and background.
